Daily Frustrations

Early morning, I just rolled out of bed and sipping my tea. Still hopeful I open my mail to see if any of the surveyscompanies I have signed up for have decided to honor me with an email.

So far I haven´t really had luck yet. Apart from one survey I got paid $18 for a few years ago, I have not had any opportunity yet to participate. I guess I will have to be patient and persevere. After all, I have only started signing up again a few weeks ago.

This time I will go at it a bit more radically though. I have actually set up a shedule and some goals I want to meet, like signing up with 10 new companies every week, that is, after the initial 80 I have signed up with already.

Yes... that is right, I signed up with 80 already, and yes, some have contacted me already, several times. There even is one company that has sent me over 15 emails with surveys that pay somewhere between $3 and $8... geez... think of all the money I already could have made if only I were in the right target group ...

I keep telling myself, after having gone through my emails.... persevere persevere... Rome wasn´t built in one day... *sigh*

The Truth About Paid Online Surveys

With thousands of people trying to find a way to make
some extra money online everyday, paid online survey
sites are popping up everywhere. With so many out
there (some good, some - well, not so good) it's hard
to determine what to believe. In an attempt to clarify
the ins and outs, and the myths and realities of paid
online surveys, I've composed a series of questions
and answers to help you sort everything out. We'll
start with the basics and then get into the nitty
gritty.

Question: Is this for real? Why would someone pay me
to take online surveys?
Answer: Yes, this is for real. There are literally
hundreds of legitimate market research companies out
there who offer incentives for your opinion. Companies
have come to these firms to get public opinions on
their products or services and are willing to pay them
to find out what you think. They then pass some of
that payment onto you.

Question: What are the surveys about?
Answer: Just about anything that you can think of. You
may be asked to review a movie trailer for a new
movie, what kind of peanut butter you like, what
restaurants you frequent, you name it. From barbeque
grills to medical questions to appliances to what you
had for dinner last night. There are sites for
specific age groups, professions, hobbies and
interests. The surveys are generally very interesting
and these companies are looking for your opinion on
how to shape their products.

Question: How does it work?
Answer: Each company works a bit differently, but here
are the basics of online surveys. You will sign-up for
a paid survey site. You will enter some basic
demographic information (age, gender, etc…), and when
they have a survey available in which they are looking
for someone who fits your profile, they will send you
an invitation to take a survey. The invitation will
usually contain a link directly to the survey and the
incentive they are offering for you to take the
survey. Just click on the link and take the survey to
qualify for the reward.

Question: What kinds of incentives are offered?
Answer: The incentives vary for each site, but
generally the incentives take the following forms:
cash, gift certificates (Amazon gift certificates
being the most popular), merchandise (DVDs, small
appliances, electronic gadgets, cookware, etc…), and
charity donations. Each survey site will offer one or
several of the above incentives for your participation
in their surveys. Some will offer these straight out,
for example "get paid $5.00 to take this survey", some
offer these in the form of a drawing and others have a
point system in which accumulated points can be
"cashed in" for the items above.

Question: Will you get spammed by signing up for paid
survey sites?
Answer: No, but you do have to be careful. There are
some sites out there that are simply advertising firms
posing as paid online survey sites. Here's my advise
on how to tell the difference. First, if they offer
you a chance at a fantastic prize for signing up, such
as a car or a boat, I would be a bit weary and do some
more research before you sign-up. Second, if the
survey to sign-up for the site consists of a lot of
questions as to whether or not you want more
information on other products, walk away, you're
certain to get spammed. Just remember that a
legitimate market research firm will not endorse a
product or service, they are supposed to be unbiased.
Third, read the privacy policy if you have any
concerns. The majority of the sites out there are
legitimate and will only email you if there is a
survey available or if there is important information
they need to notify you of.

Question: Should you pay for a database of paid survey
sites?
Answer: No. There are several reasons why you
shouldn't pay a dime to take online surveys. First,
with a little effort you'll be able to find all of the
sites yourself - free. There are a lot of free sites
that have pretty good lists and also a few really good
free sites out there that have comprehensive free paid
survey directories with hundreds of listings.
Secondly, market research firms are actually
prohibited from charging people to participate in
surveys and frown upon anyone who does.

Question: Can I get rich just by taking online
surveys?
Answer: I've had so many people ask me if there are
going to be able to retire by taking online surveys.
Well, that's just not going to happen. Where it is
possible to make a decent amount of money by making
referrals or by running a survey related website,
you're just not going to be making a full-time salary
by simply taking surveys. There are a lot of sites out
there advertising that you can make thousands of
dollars per week or make $45 dollars and hour for
taking online surveys (you can actually make $45
dollars an hour for a particular survey, but you won't
always make that much and it may only be a 10 minute
survey).

Question: How much can I make?
Answer: That's really hard to say. It really depends
on a number of factors. How many sites did you sign-up
with? How often do you take the surveys you are
invited to take? What is your demographic? Etc… But I
won't just leave you hanging at that. I would say, if
you sign-up for a number of survey sites, take the
majority of the surveys you are invited to and are not
limited in life experience, you could make perhaps
$1,000 to $2,000 a year in cash or something
equivalent. Mostly you will get smaller payments
($1.00 to $10.00) for a survey but I've seen them pay
as much as $200. Treat this as extra cash, not a
career. You can easily make enough to take the family
out for dinner, buy a few extras, get a few nice
things for around the house or save it all for your
Christmas shopping.

Question: So, is it worth it?
Answer: Yes, I think so. Whereas, it's not going to
make you filthy rich, it's certainly an easy and fun
way to make a few extra bucks. I find the surveys to
be enjoyable to participate in and for the time spent,
the compensation is pretty good.

That wraps up this question and answer session.
Hopefully this article has shed some light on the
world of paid online surveys. If you cut through the
hype and know what to look for, online surveys can be
an enjoyable way to make some extra money. You'll get
to see new products before they come out, give your
opinion on how to make existing products better and
get paid to do so. Not too bad for a few minutes of
your time.

The Secrets to Finding Good Online Survey Companies

When you are looking at making money from taking online paid surveys, following tips can help -

Look for Testimonials - Often survey makers put incorrect information in Testimonials. Read testimonials carefully; look for hard facts about the survey. A few surveys give contact information about their satisfied customers. Try contacting one. If the mail bounces or it is an incorrect contact number, then one can assume that the paid survey is nothing but a scam.

Documented Proof - Some paid surveys show document images on their sites. These documents are proof of a survey taker getting paid or getting his/her reward. Read the document to verify that it is authentic.

Guarantees - If a paid survey is guaranteeing you something, do read the conditions, which go with the guarantee. Look for fine prints to ensure that you satisfy all the criteria to get paid or rewarded for taking the survey.

Legal Issues - Read the disclaimers, terms & conditions at the bottom of the page, often written in small unreadable fonts. Ascertain what are the legal implications, if any, for you if you get paid or win the reward for taking the survey.

Proxy – Fraud site owners often host their paid surveys on proxy sites thereby concealing their identity.

Setup a dedicated email exclusively for taking online surveys. Keep checking the email box regularly. Keep the inbox clear of any unwanted or fake paid survey mails. At times, email websites block mails from paid survey. Ensure that the mails are not blocked.

If you are new to the world of paid surveys and if you need to pay to register to one of the survey websites, research the web to find reputable survey sites. For instance a good survey site would enable you to pay or receive money-using Pay pal. Also start registering with only one or two of such sites.

Fill the surveys honestly and take interest. Your responses could help you make more money.

Never send cash to any site.

Never depend on paid surveys as the only source of livelihood.

Finally, remember there is nothing like a Free Lunch.

Can you really earn money taking surveys?

The answer is YES! We've all seen them, advertisements, banner ads, even spam emails promising us extra cash just for taking the time to fill out a survey. But how much can you really make? What exactly do these companies want in return? Read on below to find out.

First, the survey companies actually do get a lot in return for their money. Whether they are researching and developing new products or experimenting with new advertising methods for existing products, the information these companies gleam from your consumer responses is invaluable to them. They can use your responses to find the right market for their product, gauge interest in certain products and even test advertising before they spend a huge amount of money on a national advertising campaign. Not only do the companies get a goldmine of information from consumer responses, but they can even use the aggregate information to form very specific ideas of what a certain market segment wants or needs. Consumer testing and surveys are one of the most important methods of research and testing that the big brand names use to research, develop and market their products, it's a win-win for them, for the consumer and for the people taking the surveys.

There are different types of paid surveys and they each have their own pros and cons, I'll list the two major types below:

Surveys For Cash – This type of survey is the most prized, because you give them your time and they pay you in real money. These survey companies will usually send you a check, but some of them send actual cash in the mail. Ranging from $2, $5 all the way up to $10 and $20. Higher payouts happen, but they are more rare and usually require much more time and information from you, such as keeping a daily journal of your shopping habits, Internet surfing habits or your banking habits or testing out actual products.

Surveys For Rewards – Some survey companies will offer you points for each survey you take, say 50 points or 500 points. Then these points can be redeemed for products, gift certificates, gift cards, airline miles and other items. Sometimes, the points can even be redeeemed for cash. There are more of these types of survey programs available since you must commit some time to faithfully taking the surveys they send in order to gain enough points to be redeemed for something worthwhile. However, these companies tend to send more surveys than the companies that pay cash, so you may have more opportunities to redeem your accumulated points for a cash or a tangible prize in the end.

Avoiding The Scams

Most survey companies are legitimate, but some you may want to watch out for. Listed below are some ways to make sure you are taking surveys for legitimate companies:

Reputation – Before signing up for a survey program, check it's reputation by doing a bit of research to make sure the company actually pays it's members or sends out their prizes. You can check with the Better Business Bureau online, check Google and the many message boards and forums dedicated to taking surveys and making money online in general. It should take you just a few minutes to find out if a company is for real or is just collecting information to spam you.

Privacy Policy – Make sure the site has a clearly stated privacy policy and be sure to read it carefully. Make sure they aren't going to keep and sell your personal information to third parties and that the information you do give is used for reasonable purposes.

Helpful Tools

There are some helpful tools available for those that would like to take surveys but don't type very fast or well. One of the best is the Google Toolbar. It's completely free and installs right to your browser. Once it's installed, you should click the OPTIONS tab on the bar and check the box next to AUTOFILL. Then click the AUTOFILL SETTINGS button and fill in all the information there. This enables the autofill form tool so that you can fill out forms asking for your name, address, email address etc. just once and then you can simply click the AUTOFILL button on your browser to fill in each of these fields. Extremely handy and a HUGE timesaver! With the Google toolbar, you can also search Google without having to go to Google's main page, so you can research paid survey companies even more easily. You can get it from Google's site, just go to their main page and click on MORE, then EVEN MORE and then click on TOOLBAR.

In summary, while you may not be able to make a living taking surveys, you certainly can make some extra money and earn some nice prizes. So the question is not, why would you want to take paid surveys, it's why wouldn't you want to take paid surveys?! It's easy, often fun and has many benefits! Good luck!

professional database

I believe the easiest way to start making money with online surveys is to actually spend a little bit of money first to have access to a professional database.

I know you can find all the companies that offer paid surveys through searchengines but, to be honest with you, it is just so much easier to get all the companies together in one database. Think of all the time you can save so you will actually start making money a lot sooner.

Yes I know, it is said you should not invest in order to be able to start working, but this is different. The small price you pay will get you started right away with the best paying companies and will give you great tips to keep you focussed. Inside tactics and tricks about how to get started as quickly as possible will avoid you making possibly mistakes along the path.

The hardest part about this whole method of making money is finding the companies that pay for opinions. How do you find these companies, evaluate the programs you really want to be part of, and separate the "good" from the "bad"?

You could spend weeks and months to seek out these programs, evaluate each of them, and decide on the ones that are "for real" and not "scams", or you can instantly access a database of over hundreds of top survey opportunities...

Good luck!

How I started out

Many of you might have been looking online for a long time, trying to find easier ways to earn your living. Well, unless you have won a huge jackpot, you better start realising there really is not other way than be dedicated to your job to earn that money you need.

Many webpages promise instant cash, instant fortune or whatever, but they don´t tell you it is just instant fortune for themselves if they trick you into buying yet another electronically manual you don´t really need, or sign up for yet another free newsletter you are never going to read anyways.

I´ve been there, done that .... and probably with the same result most people achieve.... nada, nothing, zero.... So.... the best advice I can give you is don´t quit your dayjob just yet!

But, on the other hand, you could little by little start working on the side, as long as you have a plan and dedication! Be prepared to set aside one hour a day to improve your future and stay focussed on the task at hand.

I will be sharing with you some of the programs that have been working for me, you will find these in the side bar or there will be a review on the programs recommended throughout this blog. But please do not sign up for all of them. Choose one that you feel comfortable with, one job that sounds interesting to you, and then stick with it!

Once the first program is really working for you and starting to earn you that extra cash, you can always sign up for another, but please don´t in the beginning.

Good luck and let me know how you are doing!
